start date

the article says the film takes place during 1908, but the chin woo page says that the school was not there until 1910. what gives — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.103.135.72 (talk) 08:07, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Longer article?

Considering this is such a fan favourite of Lee fans I think the article is a bit short. compared to Big Boss. How about an expansion of the plot? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.101.222.28 (talk) 14:05, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect Date

While the article states the film takes place in 1908, there is a car and a telephone in the film from no earlier than the 1930's. I found another web site which refers to it taking place in the 30's. I'm going to change the reference to the date since it appears to be clearly wrong. Internet sources state that Huo Yuanjia died in 1909 or 1910, depending on the source. When you watch the film, Chen Zhen (played by Bruce Lee) comes to his wake at the very beginning of the film. The movie's plot is based on the death of Huo, so it must take place in 1909 or 1910. As for the telephone, keep in mind that this along with other Bruce Lee movies was low-budget, kind of a B-movie, and did not always make the same careful decisions that you might see in Hollywood today. Also in this movie, when Chen Zhen is at Shanghai Park, the Westerners who walk in with their dog are dressed in clothing from the 1960's! I don't think the Japanese occupied Shanghai in the 60's! The article should be updated to say the story takes place in 1909-1910. --RisingSunWiki 16:33, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
According to http://www.hkmdb.com/db/movies/view.mhtml?id=5299&display_set=eng the film is set in 1908. HKMDB cites its source as the Rim Films Catalog. --RisingSunWiki 23:50, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fist of Fury (1972 film)Fist of Fury — This article should be moved back to "Fist of Fury" since this is the more common title rather than "Fist of Fury (1972 film)" The current page named "Fist of Fury" has been moved to "Fist of Fury (disambiguation)". Support move back per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The TV series is completely overshadowed by the iconic film. Kanguole 08:35, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Film stock

Does anyone know what kind of film stock was used for shooting this film?

I'm assuming it was shot on 35mm by one brand or another. WereTech (talk) 06:22, 15 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Meaning of Chinese Title?

Can anyone provide a sourced meaningful translation and explanation of the Chinese title "精武門"? I've tried searching, without success.

Presumably the 精武 part refers to the 精武 Chin Woo/Jing Wu Athletic Association that features in the story. Could/should we have a translation / explanation of what 精武 means, here or on the Chin Woo page?

What about the "門" part? Wiktionary says one (of many possible definitions) is "school; sect; school of thought; tradition". Not sure if that's the right one, or if a Wiktionary definition counts as a "source".

So maybe ending up with something like this:

The Chinese title 精武門 literally means "Chin Woo School", referring to the real life association featured in the film that sought to preserve and popularize traditional Chinese martial arts.
