Spelling correction needed

First sentence of the last paragraph for the “Psychology” section. Reads “ Escapism in gaming is a major factor in why individuals have falling in love with gaming.” Should be “have fallen in love with”. 98.110.108.179 (talk) 08:39, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Team-B-Vital Improvement Drive

Hello all!

This article has been chosen as this fortnight's effort for WP:Discord's #team-b-vital channel, a collaborative effort to bring Vital articles up to a B class if possible, similar to WP:Articles for Improvement. This effort will run for up to a fortnight, ending early if the article is felt to be at B-class or impossible to further improve. Articles are chosen by a quick vote among interested chatters, with the goal of working together on interesting Vital articles that need improving.

Thank you! Remagoxer (talk) 23:04, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Defining "gamer": a "proactive hobbyist"?

A Google search for the phrase "proactive hobbyist" (and even "proactive hobbyist -gamer") finds that the phrase is exclusively associated with this article and pages quoting it.

What does it mean? As a native English speaker, I have only the vaguest sense - I think this phrase intends to separate the casual player of games from the proper gamer. But this phrase doesn't actually say that.

What is the gamer proactive about? If the word is to remain, that ought to be explained/defined. Otherwise, a different, self-explanatory term should be found. (Indeed, I wonder if "proactive" was originally a substitution for a word like "motivated" or "dedicated".) SSSheridan (talk) 10:47, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
