Adam Smith quote

I propose inclusion of this quote from Smith: “it is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker, that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest”. This may go on the "Views on greed" section, alongside the current Smith quote. Forich (talk) 19:27, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is that really relevant? Doing something that benefits others because you also benefit isn't greed by the normal definition, and that particular quote doesn't seem relevant to the earlier Smith quote. Iapetus (talk) 12:42, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Correction of Improper Edit

On January 3, 2024, I undid revision 1101468075 by 136.32.202.18 (user has no talk page)

In my original text, I mentioned a print by Antwerp printmaker Pieter van der Heyden (c. 1530 - after March 1572), specifying the date of the work to be 1558 and referencing the Metropolitan Museum of Art which had assigned that date.

On July 31, 2022 the use at IP 136.32.202.18 made a single change to the article: the print's origin date was changed to 1828, while the artist and the reference were left untouched. This appears to be deliberate, as it required multiple erroneous keystrokes to accomplish, and places the result more than 250 years after the artist's demise. As such, it is almost certainly a hoax and likely should be considered vandalism.

This is the sole user contribution recorded for 136.32.202.18. I have taken no further action Ethnic laundry (talk) 16:32, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
