Best man is relevant why?
Dear Mr 82.42.182.200 please stop adding the useless and irrelevant "info" that is: His best man was Mr Simon Forshaw of West Derby.
If you honestly think it is:
- relevant
- correct
please state why (a reference would be useful, lol) aLii 19:40, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Height
The offical Premier League site has him at 1.86 m [1]
Yahoo EuroSport has him at 1.80 m [2]
ESPN SoccerNet has him at 1.85 m [3]
The official Liverpool FC site has him at 1.85 m [4]
...I say we go with the official Liverpool FC website listing
- Going with Liverpool FC is correct criteria as of now. Hitro talk 07:22, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Tattoo
I've heard a rumour that "Carra" has a tattoo of Everton's crest (Liverpool's hated rivals) on his arm from when he was a kid. Apparently that's the reason he always wears long sleeves. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Quite a common rumour. This article used to have that piece of information but it was taken off. Needs a verifiable source.--Tiresais 11:33, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- Carragher has addressed this in at least one interview and said that the rumour is false. (uefa.com) aLii 18:59, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
Private Life
Is his accent a subject for this section? I think not. I propose it be removed or deleted if no on can come up with a justification. Barfbagger 19:30, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- I propose you go kill yourself but that's not gonna happen either, so no. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.168.37.41 (talk) 19:40, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Weasel Words
"Many football experts consider Carragher to be one of the best natural "out-and-out" defenders in England" Short of a citation I think this this should be removed as Wikipedia:Avoid weasel words 82.5.219.55 16:56, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
He is considered by many, including famous Franco Baresi, to be the best defender in Europe but is probably the most underrated player at his position.
Public reaction
I added a paragraph about the public reaction to Jamies retirement. I don't think anyone will disagree with what i said.
Confusing sentence
In the "Club career" section, I've spotted this confusing line: By the 1997–98 season, Carragher was a regular in the first-team squad by the 1998–99 campaign,. So was it the 1997/98 season when he became a regular, or the 1998/99 season? (I've looked at the statistics - he made 20 appearances in the former, and 34 in the latter season.) DitzyNizzy (aka Jess) (talk) 22:45, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- I think that's sorted that out.[5] A bit dry but the article still needs a lot of work regardless. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 23:34, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Anyone know why it states that he played for the Italy national and U-21 teams?
Spurs own goals note
At least one IP editor has attempted to remove this statement and I have to say that I'm inclined to agree but as Mittgaurav has already declined its removal I'll broach it here. It's an interesting little fact, but an arbitrary one. I feel that including it here gives it undue weight and I suspect may have been added as mischief by someone wishing to belittle Carragher's achievements. Unless anyone feels particularly strongly about keeping it, I'll remove it or support someone else doing it in the absence of further objection. danno_uk 22:03, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

Jamie Carragher is a retired English footballer Mulungu (talk) 17:54, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
- Not done for now: First, we need a reliable source showing that he has retired. What we have now are sources that he intends to retire. Once that is provided, please be specific as to what changes you would like to see made to the article, in the form "Change X to Y". --ElHef (Meep?) 19:10, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
Wrong number of goals scored
Jamie scored 3 league goals in his career. The goal listed in the career statistics in season 2008/9 against Middlesbrough was credited as an own goal by Emanuel Pogatetz. Reference: http://www.rsssf.com/tablese/eng09.html (match played in round 2). I haven't edited wikipedia-pages before so I'm leaving it to someone who knows how to do it. 85.165.24.56 (talk) 01:37, 2 June 2013 (UTC)magnus
