The primary version of the song

For some reason, the remix version with Alessia Cara is being listed as the primary version on this page. However, the original is notably the more popular version.

  • The music video for the original currently has approaching 33 million views[1] versus 3.3 million views for the remix.[2]
  • The original has 107 million global Spotify streams as of today (12th March 2019), compared to 800k for the remix.[3]

Both the original and remix versions are the credited versions on global charts right now - Billboard was crediting the remix for example[4] while the Official Charts Company is crediting the original.[5]

Considering the original version is actually more popular on global platforms right now, I find it confusing as to why the remix version is listed at the top of the infobox here MarthaJonesFan (talk) 17:19, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kworb isn't a reliable source as it's a blog (per WP:ALBUMAVOID), so why you're citing it like it is I don't know. What charts do is up to them and is not something we should go by; most actually combine the sales of the two versions because charts generally don't list two versions of the same song charting separately. I only noted that the song charted on Billboard's charts after the release of the remix. Of course the original video is going to have more views, it's been out longer. Nobody's disputing that. The Kworb link I cited is a feed of the official Spotify charts. You'll see on sites like this[6] that the data lines up, so although it may be a blog, the data it reports is reliable. The original is the one charting on Spotify (and is on numerous Spotify playlists) in most countries as you can see on that link. There is nothing that clearly defines the Alessia Cara version as the primary version and I feel it would be inappropriate to refer to it as so when the original is quite evidently being consumed on a notable level too.MarthaJonesFan (talk) 16:13, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I'm sorry, but as I said, Kworb is not reliable per WP:ALBUMAVOID. It doesn't matter what it reports or that it takes data from other sites. There's no "but..." to that, that's just the way it is—I didn't make it so, users have determined it's not reliable via consensus, hence its inclusion on a list of sources to not use. You are relying on data from unreliable sites and WP:SINGLEVENDORs here. It's a pretty weak argument. Ss112 18:52, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The description of the YouTube video states it is an unofficial Remix, and it is also unnotable. I think it shouldn’t be listed here. JonasTisell (talk) 00:23, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
