Robert Montgomery?

Why is Robert Montgomery included on this list? I don't see that he was a politician, other than as president of the Screen Actors Guild. Kestenbaum 07:21, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Actors in Politics

Didnt know about this page when I started adding to the other already made page. I'ld like to move the Information from that page into this rather than delete. I think the dates would add more value to the list then as it stands. If there are no objections I'll merge in a few days.. Dmanning 13:30, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Musician-politicians

I was thinking of creating a page that lists musician-politicians, since I have found several lists already existing (such as this one) Is there a particular reason there shouldn't be one? WhatsImportantToMe (talk) 19:10, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

New Column for Elected

It's interesting celebrities would run for political office but a column that would let you see if they won would help a bit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Patbahn (talkcontribs) 19:03, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Donald Trump

Shouldn't Donald Trump be on here as he was a major politician as well as an actor that played roles outside of himself such as Waldo's dad in The Little Rascals and a VIP in 54? I'm mainly bringing it up because he is an actor-politician and I don't know how to add him myself Isiah9903 (talk) 01:05, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Donald Trump was not an actor but a media personality with cameo appearances. Onikaburgers (talk) 20:39, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Of course Donald Trump was an actor and should be included in this list. For years he starred in a very successful television series, NBCs The Apprentice--reality television but he was playing a character. That's acting. He appeared in many, many cameos in television and film over a long period of years, a pursuit he engaged seriously, avidly and with great enjoyment. He made multiple appearances on nationally televised Pro Wrestling events, which of course counts as acting as much as anything else on TV or in the movies. He's a member of the Screen Actors Guild. I don't know what the agenda is in arguing to keep him off this list, maybe someone can explain. Lukebria (talk) 13:59, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As you mention, The Apprentice was a reality TV show. He was not playing a character but himself, nor he is credited with playing a character on The Apprentice. (If we start to considering that acting, we might as well expand this list to include others for their performances in the interviews or speeches before being elected.)
I am not trying to diminish his media presence or fame by ignoring his cameos and guest personality appearances, but those don't qualify as having an acting career. This list should focus on individuals for whom acting is a central and defining aspect of their careers, which is not the case for Donald Trump.
