Opening
According to Butt (1995), p. 182, the station presently named Penarth was renamed from Penarth Town some time during or after 1963 (no date is given; but Butt's convention is to use the letters BRB for post-1963 events - those in the 1948-62 period are shown as BR or BTC); and this station was opened on 20 February 1878 by the Penarth Harbour, Dock and Railway. --Redrose64 (talk) 14:13, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
