I checked all unreferenced text and it came out clean through Copyscape. ~dee 14:26, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have removedthe non-encyclopaedic tag. Most A-class roads originated as turnpikes, so that I see no reason why we should not have articles on indiuviudual turnpike roads. On the other hand, I would prefer to see this article citing some rather more substantial sources than it does at present. My difficulty in editing the article is that I do not know the area well enough.

The precise 4' 8.5" gauge is a myth. The gauge was that of the Heddon waggonway. Those of others in the Newcastle area varied significantly. However, this approximate size was a common wheel spacing for horsedrawn vehicles. Peterkingiron (talk) 13:11, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a note to Talk:Hope, Derbyshire about the name of this road and suggested altering both articles if someone can find when names were changed. Johnragla (talk) 08:36, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
