Merger proposal

Yes - I agree to merge both pages Stock market game and Stock market simulator as they both cover the same material --DragonChi

I removed the spammy, advert driven and badly corrupted example. I have added 3 useful examples, one of them paid, one of them is free and the other is a flash version(more accessible example). I think it would be nice to have a few more. Not more than 10 but enough to give people more choice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.74.20.185 (talk) 16:33, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted edit to the above mentioned site as it provides a resource to stock market simulators on the web. --DragonChi (talk) 00:08, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, that stock market simulators on the web is better as a list. However, there is chance of favourism with that link. The site is also not w3C and has issues. I have gone with a similar list from the yahoo directory, it seems to be less biased. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.74.21.142 (talk) 15:16, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I like the Yahoo one better as well.--DMCer 02:19, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
agreed - we'll leave it at the Yahoo! link --DragonChi (talk) 17:00, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I had added my free non commercial stock trading site to this page, but it was removed. stockerz.com is however 100% ad free, free of charge and free of any kind of commerce. It is made by and maintained by a small group of dedicated guys just for fun —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.67.238.234 (talk) 09:33, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Open Source stock market simulation software

The article says, "Some of them are open source...", but doesn't provide a list of, or links to, any Open Source Stock market simulators. Any leads on this? Also: there's mention on this talk page about leaving in the Yahoo! link, but it's not on the page. I'm going to add it back in, plus the dmoz.org list link. --ESP (talk) 03:13, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Examples?

It would be nice if this page listed examples of software and web applications like this. The only one I'm familiar with is Investopedia's simulator, which is why I haven't added such a list myself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rodeosmurf (talkcontribs) 23:33, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree - this would be incredibly useful. Where is the list of examples?! 92.244.160.244 (talk) 15:20, 21 May 2013 (UTC) PS[reply]

stockerz.com

ladies and gentleman, For the last 2 years I have been developing and running stockerz.com on my own servers. It is a php based real-time stock market game. There is no advertising, no commercial interest and no cross sales. The site is a private project aimed to be an educational site for learning how to trade. Upon signing up, one would receive $10.000 simulated cash and with this you can buy and sell stocks on the major USA markets. stockerz.com uses as a base a forum called vbulletin and is developed around the member system of this software, the forums themself are used to grab all possible news rss feeds about stocks, so when one searches for stocks the rss feeds are showed to make better informed choices.

I like permission to place this link in this page, mostly because this is non-commercial but also because I believe it is a good system that has been tested over the years and although limited to simply selling and buying stocks, it is been worked on by several professional coders and program engineers. Among some of the unique features the system creates custom charts and graphs.

This is not an advertisement, I simply like to state the benefits of this site, and do not want to place a link without consent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.85.67.69 (talk) 13:48, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No thank you. This is not a directory; we're not here to help your "non-commercial" site with donations and google ads. Kuru talk 14:17, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

Because having both a Paper Money article and a Stock Market Simulator article, I'm proposing the two be merged.—DMCer 21:11, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Paper trading would make sense to merge, but not Paper Money. I do not think it should be merged. Statoman71 (talk) 23:50, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wait a minute, DMCer, I think that was a typo there, Paper Money is something else. Statoman71 (talk) 23:52, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Statoman71 that Paper trading be merged with Stock market simulator; it should have its own section or come under a new section, "Background". —JOHNMOORofMOORLAND (talk) 15:39, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
