Battle of Cuito Cuanavale
Was not the first or even second biggest battle in Africa as all the following battles were bigger in terms of both numbers of participants and number KIA:
- First Battle of El Alamein
- Second Battle of El Alamein
- Battle of Gazala
- Operation Battleaxe
- Operation Crusader
- Siege of Tobruk
- Operation Compass

cut and paste
Socrates2008, i compared the article with the source you give and found it contained almost entirely, if not only, excerpts from the book conflicting missions. the sources in the article are all given. perhaps you can point out which parts you consider cut and pasted. if indeed there is such a case, it could then easily be corrected by adding the source. thanks for your help.Sundar1 (talk) 11:31, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- The section starting " But the Cubans in Angola had reversed the situation on the ground...", was originally added to Cuban intervention in Angola (1975-1991), then moved to here. The text is word-for-word from Cuito Cuanavale revisited. Even if the Mail & Guardian syndicated this from a book, the copyright issue for Wikipedia is the same.
