I've decided to move the Amateurliga Südbaden article with the Verbandsliga Südbaden one. Originally, I wasn't sure wether the second one is a true continuation of the first but I've made up my mind now, especially after writing about all the other German Verbandsligas.EA210269 (talk) 02:38, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- Did you redirect the article in the proper manner, or did you just copy and paste? I don't see a redirect in the history page. - Dudesleeper / Talk 02:44, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not quite sure what your question means, but I've gone and put a redirect on the Amateurliga Südbaden page. I havn't just copied the article, I made an attemprt to integrate the two as it would'f have made sense otherwise. I've actually done the same to the Nordbaden league a couple of days ago. I plan to merge all the Amateurliga articles to their Verbandsligas as they are essentially the same league and when I created them as separate articles, I made a mistake. Just drop me line and let me know if you find a mistake, I will try to rectify it.EA210269 (talk) 03:26, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- I meant did you use the "move" function at the top of the article? - Dudesleeper / Talk 03:41, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, no, I didn't. Never heard of it before, I have to say. How does it differ from copy, paste and "redirect"?EA210269 (talk) 05:08, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

- To fix a cut-and-paste move, see here. - Dudesleeper / Talk 05:19, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- It won't let me do it, says the page Verbandsliga Nordbaden (thats the one I tried it on) already exists and therefore it can't be done. How do you get around that? I will keep trying but if you got a hint, pass it on please.EA210269 (talk) 05:36, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- I've tried a couple more times and also consulted Wikipedia:How to fix cut-and-paste moves but I havn't had any success, either I'm doing something wrong or there is a genuine problem here! I might have to ask for help but I won't copy and paste again. I'm not sure the method works with two pages that both contain information. Like I said, if you got any hints, feel free to pass them on!EA210269 (talk) 06:13, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- Your best bet is to ask for assistance at Requested moves. An admin will assist you. I'd do it, but I'm off to bed now. - Dudesleeper / Talk 06:45, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- I went for the easy option for now, restored the Amateurliga Südbaden article as it was but left the merged bit on the Verbandsliga article, just means the history from 1945 to 1978 now exists double. Not the finest option but its damage control at least! I will try to find out how things are done properly but I'm not that unhappy with my current solution to lose sleep over it. Neither should you! Sleep well!EA210269 (talk) 09:00, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
