Name and company name
Other than the logo in the infobox, everything seems to refer to this franchise as being "Wales & Borders" (i.e. using the ampersand not "and"), including the archived copy of the introduction from the webpage. If this didn't change, I propose to move the article to Wales & Borders (currently a redirect here).
Secondly, the first reference is to the Companies House return for "Cardiff Railway Company" with no mention of "Wales and Borders" (or "Wales & Borders") there. This is the identical return linked at Valley Lines. If the Valley Lines company was the one that became this franchise then it needs some explanation in the text. - I had thought the MOS offered guidance on ampersands in article titles but apparently not. If that's the name used in official documents then I've no objection. Mackensen (talk) 13:54, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
- I hadn't thought to look, but MOS:AMPERSAND says they should not generally be used in titles or running text, but "Retain an ampersand when it is a legitimate part of a proper noun, such as in Up & Down or AT&T." I moved Wales and West to Wales & West without discussion earlier, as it is clear that that was the official and common name (e.g. the company's legal name used the ampersand). In this case only most things use the ampersand and the legal name of the company was apparently completely different ("Cardiff Railway Company"), hence the discussion.
