Place of death

Some sources say he died in Mexico but a friend who has a book on the Original Creole Orchestra coming out says he tracked down the info and he actually died in San Antonio. -- Infrogmation 16:45 Apr 21, 2003 (UTC)

Thanks for the additional information on his place of death. Most of the websites that do mention Johnson say that he passed away in Mexico, but if a book mentions it, that should be taken as a definitive source. Longevitymonger

Article title

I undid User:Agrahamt's move of this article from "William Manuel Johnson" to "Bill Johnson (early Jazz bassist)". Reasons: 1)Unilateral move without discussion on talk page first. The article has been at this title on Wikipedia for over 10 years without previous complaint; if there is a better title, there should at least be notification and discussion. 2)Avoid creating neologisms if real names disambiguate. "William Manuel Johnson" was his real name, and not overly obscure for people familiar with him. It successfully disambiguates him from other people called "Bill Johnson". "Bill Johnson (early Jazz bassist)" is not an established name for him. In addition to being a Wikipedia exclusive neologism, the capitalization of "Jazz" seems random and inappropriate. I hope this explains my revert. -- Infrogmation (talk) 04:33, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
