Andrew Affleck (28 February 1874 - 25 August 1940) was a Scottish painter and engraver.[1]

Life

His father was William Affleck (c. 1834 - 9 April 1877) from St Quivox in Ayrshire.

His mother was Margaret Wilkie Fairbairn (7 July 1846 - 8 November 1925) from Duddingston in Edinburgh. They married on 16 September 1869 in Duddingston.

Andrew Fairbairn Affleck was born on 28 February 1874 in Ayr.

Art

From Ayrshire, Affleck travelled around Europe. He went to England, France, Belgium and Spain.[2]

In 1904 he exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy his work: St. Severn, Paris. This was using the 'care of' address of Mrs McInnes, Bruce Villa, Prestwick.[3]

Around 1910 Affleck moved to France.[4]

Death

He died on 25 August 1940 in Étaples near Calais in France.
