Hossein Sharifi (Persian: حسین شریفی),(born in 1974 in Tehran) is a ‏Musician, Trombone player, composer, music producer from Iran.

Biography and Art activities

Hossein Sharifi has started to learn music under the supervision of Andrei Arzumanian since he was nine. Through his father’s relationship with master Amir Beheshti, one of the great masters of Brass instruments , he began to learn Trumpet playing and this was a new path for him in the world of music, until he was advised by Master Beheshti to learn The principles and updated rules of music in the Conservatory of Music. During these years, under the supervision of great professors, he began learning special and professional music lessons and, after two years of playing Trumpet, he chose the Trombone for playing.

‏After graduating from the Conservatory, he entered the Faculty of art, and by completing his postgraduate education, he acquired the Master’s degree in the Faculty of Art. Since then, he has been seriously learning music under the supervision of professors such as Ahmad Pejman, Saeed Sharifian, Mehran Rohani, Kambiz Roshanravan, Sharif Lotfi, Mostafa Kamal Pourtorab, Shahin Farhat, Alireza Mashayekhi and etc.

‏After the completion of Consevatory of Music, master Amir Beheshti adviced him to enter Tehran Symphony Orchestra, at the time of the late master Fereydoun Naseri as a conducter. He was then chosen as the first Trombone player in the orchestra from the very beginning (this collaboration continued from 1993 to 2016). ‏In his artwork, there are various performances in the field of classical music, with the numbers of Iranian and European conductors, among which are maestro Loris Tjeknavorian, Manouchehr and Iraj Sahbaei, Shahrdad Rohani, Fereydoun Naseri, Farhad Fakhreddini, Edo Mihich, Divadora, Gelson (conductor of the Dublin Symphony Orchestra), Hossein Dehlavi, Ali Rahbari, Naseer Heydarian, and conductors from Austria, Russia, Poland, Germany and Ireland.

‏Among the compositions performed at Tehran Symphony Orchestra included Symphony No. 5 (Beethoven) & Symphony No. 5 (Beethoven) and Symphony No. 6 (Tchaikovsky) with Ali Rahbari; Symphony No. 9 (Dvořák) (the new world) performed and recorded by Shahrdad Rohani; Symphony No. 6 (Tchaikovsky) with Nasir Heydarian; and the performance of great compositions with the invited conductors to the orchestra. Works by Stravinsky, Mahler, Schumann, Prokofiev, collaborations with the Tehran Symphony Orchestra, with all of the conductors such as Eduardo Mičic and Glisson, Ares Nova Orchestra, the World Youth Orchestra, and Tehran Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Damiano Jurana, Larisa Chekavarian, Naseer Heydarian) and etc.

‏In 2006, he was nominated by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance with the recommendation of Loris Tjeknavorian to take a scholarship for the Trombone master class and was introduced to the Comitase University in Armenia for several times. He has also attended to various classes in Germany, Austria and Russia. ‏It is worth mentioning that During his education, he was selected as a privileged student twice and has completed his thesis, about the Brass Instruments, with an excellent score (A+). Meanwhile he started teaching for the bachelor's degree in the Faculty of Art, and has been continued now. currently he teaches music at both undergraduate and graduate level. he also teaches at the Conservatory of Music for both boys and girls and also at the IRIB Music ‏It should be noted that since the establishment of the National Iranian Music Orchestra by Master Fakhredini he has been playing Trombone and performing various pieces of famous composers, either as the musical piece or with vocals .

‏Other activities include performing in the, IRIB Symphonic Orchestra and the Alborz Symphony Orchestra.
