User:Sirimewan From Wiktionary

Hi I am Sirimewan. My name is a corruption of “Shri Megha Varna” in Sanskrit. I may be dark but I am looking for the light like many other people. I am 48, a Medical Consultant by profession, naturalised Brit of Sri Lankan origin. I discovered Wikipedia recently and hope to keep contributing to it as time permits.

At present I consider myself a secular humanist. In my long journey I started as a Buddhist, progressed through phases of a scientific materialism, Marxism, Rationalism, and Liberalism and many other “ism’s” at various stages.

I speak English Sinhala and a few words of Tamil. I have a fair understanding of Buddhist and Hindu mythology. I am a keen student of the "Role of Religion in the 21st century human life". I am also studying the "Negative Implications of Nationalism in the Global Village"

I do not claim to be an expert in anything other than the narrow confines of my profession but have interests in science, philosophy, politics. I enjoy reading, music, films, and gardening.

I find dogma and intolarance tedious. I try to justify my views and try my best not to offend others who disagree with my views.
