Natufians

Hi! I verified that, in fact, the citation to Fregel is wrong in the topic on Natufian archaeogenetics, as she says nothing about Lazaridis (2018), neither in the article nor in the supplementary text. The correct citation should be to the preprint of Lazaridis (2018). I will prepare a new wording for this section.

As for Lazaridis (2016), he not only states that there is no sub-Saharan ancestry in Natufians, but also that it would not be possible to measure North African ancestry. Shriner contradicts this, pointing to significant percentages of both North African and sub-Saharan ancestry (in this case, related to modern Omotic people). Therefore, Shriner's novelty is not limited to pointing out sub-Saharan ancestry, but also North African, which Lazaridis had not done. In 2018, Lazaridis, in possession of the Taforalt data, states that the common DNA between Natufians and Taforalt came from Africa to the Levant, not the other way around. I will also write a new essay here that takes into account your considerations and mine. Dealmeida87 (talk) 17:02, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It was clarified that the Fregel article being referenced was from 2021, not 2018. Another user inserted the quotes. Dealmeida87 (talk) 21:24, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
