A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Benjamin2662, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Contested deletion

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (your reason here) --Benjamin2662 (talk) 13:21, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Editor GPL 93 has helped to rewrite this article. Here it is.

Your analysis is no longer valid. Here it is. Benjamin2662 (talk) 13:21, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say that BrownHairedGirl's analysis was spot on. Did you not read the whole part where it says that your user page should not be one of the following?

GPL93 (talk) 13:33, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with GPL93. The user page is either a draft WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY or a WP:FAKEARTICLE.
It is sad to see an academic abusing Wikipedia in this way. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 13:41, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Benjamin 2662, self-promotion is not taken lightly here, and your edits, the way you went about this, aren't particularly helpful. Moreover, the draft you created gave us no reason to think that the article is neutral, the content proper, and the subject notable. You could try to get unblocked and then submit a draft (see WP:FIRST), but of course you still have a conflict of interest (and see WP:DECLARE). A draft would have to read less like a resume, and would need reliable, secondary sources--which would disallow pretty much all the links you had in there. There's a book? Great--cite reviews from academic journal. Don't insert links to websites and university pages, and don't make T&P claims like how many articles the subject has published. For notability guidelines, see WP:PROF. Drmies (talk) 17:49, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Drmies: @GiantSnowman: This appears not to be this guy's first rodeo. He appears to have been blocked previously at User:StevenBenjaminDamelin & User:Stevenbdamelin and the namespace Steven Damelin is SALTed (for good measure SALTing Steven Benjamin Damelin may also be appropriate). GPL93 (talk) 17:53, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I thought the draft looked familiar. I CU-blocked one of them years ago. Thanks. Drmies (talk) 17:57, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
