Welcome, Bill. You are even older than I am! I am only 82. --Bduke (talk) 05:37, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

try checking: WP:SIGN
try https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Your_first_article
try the suggested links above

just as easy it is to help starting, better you get a handle on the wider issues at the same time

find a similar/subject/topic/article - and go in and reverse engineer - you learn well that way
essentially to start the new article you need to cut and paste into a new article with relevant title
but well worth reading through the stuff before you do that... JarrahTree 11:11, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I am having great difficulty understanding how to communicate on Wiki. But no trouble editing pages and creating a new page. I have added to Australian Atomic Energy Commission and CSIRO BillAustralia (talk) 23:25, 31 May 2021 (UTC) is that correct for signature??[reply]

repy - yes - it goes at the end of communications. JarrahTree 11:35, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I now have 2 copies of the page I have created User:BillAustralia/sandbox https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:BillAustralia/sandbox FlowTran - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FlowTran BillAustralia (talk) 22:40, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

hmm - you can delete the sandbox content, as the other is in mainspace
when creating new articles - you attract less negative attention by finding some categories (again - find something similar and reverse engineer) - having comprehendable 'lead sentences' - and finding how talk page tagging works...

Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, BillAustralia. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 00:37, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Well I certainly have no paid employment and am receiving no payment for any of my activities on Wikipedia. I sold my software company FlowTran Pty Ltd in 2016 and payments for it to me completed some years ago. Since then I have had no interaction or connection with the company or indeed anyone in any industry since then being now 83 years of age. So there is and was nothing to disclose. BillAustralia (talk) 22:40, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

wow makes me feel like a naive youngster in this department... please learn to WP:SIGN JarrahTree 12:11, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome (belated)

There are other editors in Perth - thank for your identification of location... JarrahTree 10:55, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

FlowTran moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, FlowTran, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. scope_creepTalk 16:54, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
