I have a question about notability, since you said that the subject of my article did not satisfy the notability criterion. On the wiki page detailing the notability criteria for academics, the first criterion states that "1. The person's research has made significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources." Subsection "c" notes that this first criterion may be met through the a publication of a festschrift in honor of the subject of the article: "(c) The publication of an anniversary or memorial journal volume or a Festschrift dedicated to a particular person is usually enough to satisfy Criterion 1, except in the case of publication in vanity, fringe, or non-selective journals or presses." Since the subject of my article did have a festschrist published in his honor by a non-vanity press (wipf and stock), it seems like he does meet the notability criteria for academics. Indeed, the wiki page on notability states that "Academics meeting anyone of the following conditions, as substantiated through reliable sources, are notable." Since I have demonstrated that he had a festschrift published in his honor (please see the body of the article along with the references) by a reputable publishing company, can you re-evaluate the notability of the subject of my article?
I appreciate any help you can provide in this matter. Dgregory4 (talk) 01:46, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
