Friends?
Hi, you seem to have taken a dislike to me, based on my interactions with Symphony Regalia, however, you weren't there for the whole conversation so I'd a least like to give my side of the story.
What one has to remember is that this discussion started nearly three weeks ago, to quote a misattribution to Lenin "There are decades when weeks happen, and weeks when decades happen" Symphony Regalia initially was repeatedly adding "China Virus" to the article lead without concensus from contributors, and was blocked for edit warring for doing so. At the time, there was no significant use of the term, as this was before the pandemic really started to take hold in English speaking countries, and Symphony Regalia was using the fact that the term was used in newspaper headlines as evidence, however they clearly weren't using the term as in the noun "China virus", and the term was barely being used on twitter. I was rude and dismissive of him as he didn't seem to want to productively contribute to wikipedia. What also didn't help matters is that the notorious troll Architect 134, who makes Sock puppet accounts designed to imitate users blocked for edit warring, in order to get them into futher trouble, created an account to harass Dekimasu with fake block warnings specifically mentioning Symphony Regalia. (Dekimasu is an admin, so it wasn't very effective). I didn't realise that it was a troll initially, as I was not familiar with Architect 134, and Symphony Regalia reverted an edit by Dekimasu removing the fake block warning from his page, which was stupid on his part as 1. you don't revert edits made by a user on their own talk page and 2. It made him look like he was operating the sock. I therefore reported him for sockpuppetry in good faith, this made him think I was doing this to harass him, when I had actually been tricked by a troll pretending to be him, which he seems to fail to understand. Obviously things have changed, and in retrospect perhaps I was too harsh on him initially, but I agree now that the term "China virus" does indeed have widespread use, but that it isn't worth including in the article under WP:DUE. You seem to be a productive contributor and I hope we can have pleasant interactions in the future, kind regards. Hemiauchenia (talk) 14:03, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
- Hello there! I only wanted to maintain that the atmosphere was calm, and did not mean any harm. As I am not a cynical person (I hope), I would like to accept your friend request. I hope that I did not do any major harm. Foxtail286 (talk) 01:30, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
