HI Dan

I am not very good at this I know - thank you for your help.

The images are definitely not copyright protected.

I would like to at least get back to the final version (citations etc) even if it has to be published for now wothout the images (which I will redo if necessary) - it took AGES to add all those links and so on.

Hoping you can help sort this out. (by the way I am in Ireland, local time 8.30pm)

Ways to improve Brian Frances

Hi, I'm Dan Koehl. Jane Rose Barry, thanks for creating Brian Frances!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please try to find relevant categories and mark the bottom of the page with those

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Dan Koehl (talk) 15:27, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is finished

Hi Dan I think I have fixed everything now. I would like to see it published, Also to add images. Please let me know if it is ok now. Thank you Jane Rose

Hi Dan

I think I have done everything now ( I will do a copy edit with fresh eyes tomorrow)

I would like to upload my own photos of my own images - can I do this now?

Thank you

Jane Rose

Dear Jane, please feel free to upload pictures at commons. You need to register an account there, which just takes seconds, and its important not to upload pictures which may have copyright protection. Only free photos may be uploaded, and I suggest you read the help section on Commons.
I made a few changes to the categories, and removed that error banner. Normally external links should not be in the text, only after the etxt under section external links. I changed his birth place, but you wrote he grew up in Birr, Tipperary, but I find Birr belonging to County_Offaly?
It's a long and intersting article you have written, but it has to be Wikipedia:Wikified with internal links, the external links you submitted into text can be moved down to a external links section if they provide any relevant material or is sources for the article.
Contrary, the references you have put down under header references, should be moved up to the places in the text where they are the source for a certain record.
You are improving the article, and Im happy for your patience. I believe youul do it, and slowly get the grip how to write, and soon be inspired to contribute with more articles. Everything new can be a little tiring and confusing in the beginning, but I think you belong to a category that will have a fast development. Please notify me on my talk page if you have any questions, or just need inspiration. Good luck now. Dan Koehl (talk) 22:40, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

I did everything asked in your edit comments but it didn't save - or someone is vandalizing the page; the images ARE by him - who is removing them?? on what basis??

I had added lots of internal links and citation, categories everything - but they are all gone!!!

I don't know what is happening. I hope you can help.

There was (is?) a version with images, captions, citation, categories - the lot. But somehow it is not visible.

With any luck you can find this and reinstate it. And please stop whoever is taking it upon themselves to delete the pictures from the creative commons. This is ridiculous!

JR

Don't worry, let me look into this, Im sure we can get back your version. Moment, please. Dan Koehl (talk) 19:13, 9 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
With this link you can look bak in the history of different versions of that file. With previous and next version, you can step by tsep follow what has been done with the file. It seems some pictures were deleted at commons, for some reaon, and if they are not more existing, they can not be linked to. The most probable reason for that is that they were copyright protected, and could not be used on commons.Dan Koehl (talk) 19:26, 9 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jane, Ill be happy to try to help you later, but I would for now suggest that you try to sort it out, Im sure you can do it. Take some time and study the links I did on your user page, with general information on how to edit. Later, when you follow the history of that document, you can see that later edits removed red links you made etc. I would suggest that you simply go back, and copy what you miss in the present version, and paste it there. Images

Hi, you may not have noticed the images being deleted over on commons as by default the notification settings are not set to email you - You can change that here. The bots are just removing the dead 'red-links' after the images are deleted. Note over on your commons talk page here you had notifications of intent to delete that give the reason and links needed. Help me!

Please help me with... The Brian Francis wiki post. Thank you all for previous corrections, but I had a long draft done, all the required corrections made, and it has dissappeared. Please can someone find it and reinstate it.

Jane Rose Barry (talk) 11:49, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like it's been moved to Brian Francis (artist). Yunshui  13:15, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, wait - are you referring to the text removed in this edit? If so, it's still available in the article history (see this version), but much of it is written in a discursive style which isn't suitable for an encyclopedia article - it's probably better off left out.
