Please stop ruining the Survivor pages
This is a 20 year show with a huge fanbase. There are numerous issues with the changes you're making. There are *multiple* discussion threads on the survivor subreddit pointing out all of the issues with the changes you're making, but the community at large is especially attached to the color charts. I understand that people who are color blind need other indicators to get information, but there is no reason to remove the colors for everyone else.
The color tribe charts and voting charts are important to the show. They indicate at a glance how much control someone had over a vote and in multiple tribe switch seasons, they're especially helpful to track a contestant's journey through multiple tribes.
Additionally, there is survivor lore around tribe colors, including stats on which tribe colors are most popular and most cursed. Using the actual tribe colors on the wiki is important.
Additionally, it is inappropriate to make the main photo the DVD cover instead of the season logo. You are spoiling every season but 1 by doing so, and not giving people the opportunity to visit the page without being immediately spoiled by the photo alone.
Overall the changes you're making are bad. Bad for the fandom, and just largely harder to follow. Please stop. We beg you. 173.67.8.6 (talk) 21:53, 30 April 2022 (UTC)
- Wikipedia isn't a fan site. We are an encyclopaedia. We have rules around how tables should be displayed. I haven't been changing the logos on these pages, but they are protected by WP:SPOILER. The survivor "fandom" seems to believe that this website is a fansite designed for "lore".
Using the actual tribe colors on the wiki is important.
- it simply isn't. There is incalculable amount of articles on teams that have a dedicated colour, but shouldn't just have that at every opportunity. - Quite frankly, the survivor Reddit is not Wikipedia, where we have rules in place to keep things both accessible and readable. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 22:03, 30 April 2022 (UTC)
- Rather than have this conversation as a split over many pages, I've created a suitable thread at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Television/Survivor_task_force#MOS_fixes_for_tables. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 22:47, 30 April 2022 (UTC)
- Going to have to agree with the user above, these changes have made the Survivor pages uglier and harder to follow. Your dubious citation of color standards and lack of peer review has upended a system that was put in place over a decade before you decided to butt in. You are literally the only person that takes issue with the way the pages looked before. Bachwiz18 (talk) 23:53, 30 April 2022 (UTC)
- I'm simply not the only person, as you have been conflating my edits on one series of tables with an overhaul of other tables and DVD logos. My talk page is not the location to discuss these changes, see WT:TV#Reality tv show progression and other tables, MOS and WP:ACCESS Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:05, 1 May 2022 (UTC)

Ruining Survivor Pages With Lack of Color and DVD Cover Images Have Spoilers
Hi,
I would just liked to add to the consensus that you are making the survivor pages difficult to read by removing colors. I get there is a MOS but I'm assuming there's some room for common sense there as well.
Also, the DVD cover you are using as main images usually only feature players that make it past the merge and the winner (so if they aren't on there you know they don't win). I think the season logo's were more than sufficient to represent here.
Thanks 184.144.82.200 (talk) 14:00, 1 May 2022 (UTC)

WikiCup 2022 May newsletter
The second round of the 2022 WikiCup has now finished. It was a high-scoring round and contestants needed 115 points to advance to round 3. There were some very impressive efforts in round 2, with the top seven contestants all scoring more than 500 points. A large number of the points came from the 11 featured articles and the 79 good articles achieved in total by contestants.
Our top scorers in round 2 were:
- Epicgenius, with 1264 points from 2 featured article, 4 good articles and 18 DYKs. Epicgenius was a finalist last year but has now withdrawn from the contest as he pursues a new career path.
- AryKun, with 1172 points from two featured articles, one good article and a substantial number of featured article and good article reviews.
- Bloom6132, with 605 points from 44 in the news items and 4 DYKs.
- Sammi Brie, with 573 points from 8 GAs and 21 DYKs.
- Ealdgyth, with 567 points from 11 GAs and 34 good and featured article reviews.
- Panini!, with 549 points from 1 FA, 4 GAs and several other sources.
- Lee Vilenski, with 545 points from 1 FA, 4 GAs and a number of reviews.
The rules for featured and good article reviews require the review to be of sufficient length; brief quick fails and very short reviews will generally not be awarded points. Remember also that DYKs cannot be claimed until they have appeared on the main page. As we enter the third round, any content promoted after the end of round 2 but before the start of round 3 can be claimed now, and anything you forgot to claim in round 2 cannot! Remember too, that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. - Following a discussion on the bureaucrat's noticeboard, a change has been made to the bureaucrats inactivity policy.
- The ability to undelete the associated talk page when undeleting a page has been added. This was the 11th wish of the 2021 Community Wishlist Survey.
- A public status system for WMF wikis has been created. It is located at https://www.wikimediastatus.net/ and is hosted separately to WMF wikis so in the case of an outage it will remain viewable.
- Remedy 2 of the St Christopher case has been rescinded following a motion. The remedy previously authorised administrators to place a ban on single-purpose accounts who were disruptively editing on the article St Christopher Iba Mar Diop College of Medicine or related pages from those pages.

The Wall Street Journal RFC
Hi,
I know that you are going to close this, but I added another example of canvassing to the discussion. I know I should have done it sooner. Apologies if this causes more disruption. I have no intention to continue that discussion on the talk page. Politrukki (talk) 10:34, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Politrukki - thanks for letting me know. That particular RFC had a real issue with it being spread across many different pages (such as the ones you outlined, previous discussions, and the AN thread). Whilst the above isn't suitable (I'd argue it's also forum shopping), I don't think it broke the validity of the RfC. I hope the closure is treated well, I took quite a while reading through all of the discussions. This sort of thing is best dealt with at the time, rather than to sway the closure of the topic. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 18:57, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, Lee. Did you miss that the version with the disputed phrase is the longstanding text? Normally no consensus means restore the status quo, so the correct close would "no consensus to remove" the disputed phrase.—S Marshall T/C 21:09, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
- S Marshall Apologies if it wasn't clear! No consensus means no consensus. As you say, in practice this means to retain the information that was present before the RFC. However, the RFC was written in such a way that it wasn't asking if the information should be removed, simply if it was suitable for the lede (probably a poorly worded RFC). There isn't a consensus to remove, as you say, but there also isn't a consensus to keep. The close, practically means to retain the status quo, but doesn't condemn or approve the text. I don't personally like the phrase "no consensus to remove" as it suggests there is a consensus to keep. I hope I've explained that well enough, but happy to look at the exact wording if it's deemed confusing! Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:43, 21 May 2022 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter May 2022
Hello Lee Vilenski/Archives/2022,
At the time of the last newsletter (No.26, September 2021), the backlog was 'only' just over 6,000 articles. In the past six months, the backlog has reached nearly 16,000, a staggering level not seen in several years. A very small number of users had been doing the vast majority of the reviews. Due to "burn-out", we have recently lost most of this effort. Furthermore, several reviewers have been stripped of the user right for abuse of privilege and the articles they patrolled were put back in the queue.
Several discussions on the state of the process have taken place on the talk page, but there has been no action to make any changes. The project also lacks coordination since the "position" is vacant.
In the last 30 days, only 100 reviewers have made more than 8 patrols and only 50 have averaged one review a day. There are currently 811 New Page Reviewers, but about a third have not had any activity in the past month. All 847 administrators have this permission, but only about a dozen significantly contribute to NPP.
This means we have an active pool of about 450 to address the backlog. We cannot rely on a few to do most of the work as that inevitably leads to burnout. A fairly experienced reviewer can usually do a review in a few minutes. If every active reviewer would patrol just one article per day, the backlog would very quickly disappear.
If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page.
If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.
To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

Question from Smallco (02:10, 29 May 2022)
how to write google knowledge panel and a pear immediately --Smallco (talk) 02:10, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
- Smallco we don't look after Google knowledge bar. That's something that Google does and may link Wikipedia. Any article created won't show on Google at all until it has been page patrolled. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:43, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
Question from Sheila M. Strassburg (12:52, 29 May 2022)
I want to Add John Delin, and Sam Young both excommunicated from Mormom (LDS) religion to the former members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, former MORMONS.
They are both TRUTH tellers and both are knowledgable and add significant value to the current list. Both are highly visible and creditable. Both have several thousand followers who are also former Mormons. --Sheila M. Strassburg (talk) 12:52, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
- Are you trying to get an article written about these people? We need them to be written about in reliable, secondary sources in detail. For more information, see our general notability guidelines. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:53, 29 May 2022 (UTC)

Lester Piggott - "citations needed"
Hi Lee, it is superfluous to cite each race win, and is never done on other horse race jockey articles, such as Willie Carson, Pat Eddery, Eddie Delahoussaye etc. If there is a dispute, then a reference can then be required, no problem. I don't believe there is any controversy regarding the winners so the tag (IMHO) should be removed. I have used the guidance on When to use (or not use) the "citation needed tag". Best wishes. SethWhales talk 22:12, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
- I have added an archived reference as a source at bottom of the "Major wins" section from racingbase.com. SethWhales talk 05:37, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
- Seth Whales - thanks for adding a source, that was what was required. We don't add references on request - we add them for all information. Something doesn't need to be controversial to require a citation. So long as that source covers all of the wins listed, there's no issue. Other jockeys being similarly poorly sourced isn't great either. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:16, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
