Hi. Welcome to my talk page. Please leave messages for me here, and I will respond here.
Nice work!
Nice work catching and reverting vandalism! A reminder, though: avoid using the word "vandalism" in edit summaries, especially if it is only "possible vandalism"# If it isn't really vandalism, we don't want to scare a good faith but mistaken editor away# Thanks! ##User:Liquidluck|liquidluck##✽##User talk:Liquidluck|talk## 04:42, 21 April 2010 #UTC#

settlement date for ##Fontana, California##
Thank you for citing your sources. The Anicic book says that Miller named Fontana in 1913. It does not claim that Fontana was settled that year. The school district website credits Miller as the founder of Fontana, but gives a 1905 date. Therefore, the claim in the infobox is not supported by either source. Is it original research? Given that California has been inhabited for thousands of years, it seems unlikely that nobody lived in the area prior to 1913. —Stepheng3 #talk# 15:08, 6 October 2014 #UTC#
- Are you being purposefully obtuse? Original research? I'm not that old, friend. I think the school district is referencing when Miller arrived in the area, not when the area became Fontana. Anicic's book is the superior source, so I will change the wording to "founded" in the infobox.Mracew (talk) 14:36, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
- No, I'm not trying to be any more dim-witted than I am, not am I implying anything about your age. "Founded" does seem a more accurate term for what Miller did, but perhaps "Named" would be even better. The book says he "gave Fontana its name", which to me seems like a different thing. Cities may be renamed long after they were founded. —Stepheng3 (talk) 17:04, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
