File permission problem with File:DJ Wil in 2012.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:DJ Wil in 2012.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dianna (talk) 23:59, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Perfect Harmony comedy.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Perfect Harmony comedy.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dianna (talk) 23:59, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on David Brett-Williams requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. PanOut37 (talk) 06:11, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at David Brett-Williams

Hi Nickaang, you recently removed a deletion tag from David Brett-Williams. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove speedy deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the tag. Although the deletion proposal may be incorrect, removing the tag is not the correct way for you to contest the deletion, even if you are more experienced than the nominator. Instead, please use the talk page to explain why the page should not be deleted. Remember to be patient, there is no harm in waiting for another experienced user to review the deletion and judge what the right course of action is. As you are involved, and therefore potentially biased, you should refrain from doing this yourself. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 06:13, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Nickaang. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, David Brett-Williams, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want David Brett-Williams to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks, Ridernyc (talk) 06:54, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of David Brett-Williams

Hello Nickaang,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged David Brett-Williams for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Ridernyc (talk) 07:04, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Question

I'm curious how someone in India is finding all this detailed biographical information on people who are not notable and have no web presence at all? What interests you about these subjects? Where are you getting this info? How are you discovering these subjects? Ridernyc (talk) 08:51, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You shouldn't be curious in this 21st century when the internet has narrowed the barriers of communication. But for the sake of your curiosity, those articles were given to me by their respective owners and I'm curious how you don't find any web presence on the topics? NickAang (talk) 09:24, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
So you admit you are creating article for profit? Ridernyc (talk) 09:25, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not admitting that because I've created and contributed in many articles not for making any profit but yes, I do appreciate small tips like User:TannerJonesDriver for a few articles. Thanks, NickAang (talk) 09:52, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Please do not attack other editors, as you did to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/2013 January 24. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Thanks for the advise and I'm very sorry to the user Ridernyc and I promise I won't in the future. But please check this. Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Evan Kosiner, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Gtwfan52 (talk) 08:35, 27 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
