Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello Para82, welcome to Wikipedia!

Here are some tips:

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, Alf 09:22, 29 August 2005 (UTC).[reply]

Hi. You can sign comments on talk pages by adding ~~~~. This makes them easier to follow as you can see who said what. I find the debate on TGN1412 interesting - yesterday it was the top story on BBC News but they hadn't picked up it was a monoclonal antibody. I've been told by someone that ITV's 6 o'clock news knows that now. Mainstream media's science coverage can be poor but hopeful we can help in some small way. Hi Para82

You created the article Danish property bubble, I am of the belief that the current rise in Dansih real estate prices is not an Economic bubble but merely a pricing/market ajustement, as the housing market is moving from government regulated to an open market economy. You also do not state any sources in the article, and makes reference to "some" observers and "some" analyst.

For theese reasons I am considering putting it up for deletion unless I hear from you.

I also noticed you made a lot of Denmark related contributions, perhaps you would be interested in joining the WikiProject Denmark, aslo if you have any questions feel free to ask me on my talk page

regards and happy editing Mads Angelbo 18:03, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Para82
Thanks for your reply on my talk page, first thing first, it is good practice on wikipedia to sign your contributions with four(4) tilde(~), that automatically inserts your username, the date and time. That will makeit easier for people to see who posted what. It is also a good thing to start new sections at the bottom of the talk page.
Regarding the article Danish property bubble there is a problem that the name implies there is a bubble. What I can see from danish news, makes me think that all this bubble talk is media hype. Danmarks Radio reported that Danmarks Nationalbank states there is no bubble [DR Penge link 1] and the same frome the association of Danish Real estate brokers[www.de.dk] see [DR Penge link 2 ]
My main concern is theese statesments from the article, as you also pints out. I will try at see if I can find any sources, that can be incorpareted into the article. otherwise I will probably remove them.
  • Some observers have also ...
  • many banks and analysts acknowledge ...
  • This has led some observers to speculate that ...
  • Some have warned that the ...
  • Many real estate agents have ...
Keep up the good work and te best to you and happy editing. Mads Angelbo 18:52, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Danish property bubble, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. There is, and has most definitely been a Danish property bubble which has finally burst. In some sectors of the Copenhagen property market, prices are 30 to 40 percent off their 2006 peaks. Areas particularly effected are new-builds in the Copenhagen docklands. But no sector of the market is immune. Depending on the tax regime chosen Danish real estate companies are obliged to file valuations of their asset base, so the information is easily available. Graphs are also published weekly in popular Sunday business papers. I am unfamiliar with Wikpedia process and procedure but facts are facts. I would counter propose deletion and allow an important article to develop with properly documented references.

Amoungst the important themes that would develop are insights into a unique bonds based mortgage system, the effects of decades of state intervention in the property sector, high rates of personal taxation, uniquely discriminatory legislation in the property sector against other EU nationals and the unifying economic patterns of a global phenomena of asset inflation accross very different national economic systems.

Notability of Cosy Bar

A tag has been placed on Cosy Bar, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 23:49, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. Thank you. Alientraveller 20:50, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the talk page guidelines. I think you are better off discussing the film's finer points somewhere like the Internet Movie Database. It is not realistic to delve into details of such a complicated plot beyond what is easily apparent. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 21:33, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Prestige (film)

Please refrain from deleting content from The Prestige (film). Plot summaries are not considered OR, and can be found on almost every film page on Wikipedia. Heliomance 11:14, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • The problem with your edit to the discussion page is that the talk page of an article is not the place to go in-depth about the plot. The reason a plot summary is not OR is because it can be very easily verified by anyone going to see the film - the film itself is the source. Also, when writing comments on talk pages, please sign them by adding four tildes (~) after your comment. Heliomance 11:23, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ai ai ai. Sorry for biting you. As a general rule, it's not a good idea to do a major edit unless you're very sure you know what you're doing. Also, cutting out sections of a page to make your point is frowned upon. I possibly shouldn't have deleted the talk page entry, but the plot summary on the main article should definitely stay. However, I'm not sure what you hope to gain by the talk page entry - the purpose of the talk page is to discuss improvements to the article, and anything that came out of your entry would almost certainly be OR, and so ineligable for inclusion in the article. Heliomance 11:38, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I put up another reply to you after that comment, if you didn't notice. Yes, having OR on the discussion page is not inherently bad. But as the point of the discussion page is to improve the article, an entry that cannot result in any additions to the article that are not OR is pointless. As for deleting other entries on the talk page, please don't. I refer you again to WP:POINT. Heliomance 12:14, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Put it down to the fact that Wikipedia editors are, first and foremost, human. I have to admit that the main reason I deleted your edit is that I was following the precedent of the other editor. My apologies. Heliomance 12:45, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 11:18, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Mogambo Guru, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mogambo Guru. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Ridernyc (talk) 00:23, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Mogambo Guru has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable "character" or pseudonym used by a non-notable writer.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ridernyc (talk) 21:18, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Appendix H

Hello Para82,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Appendix H for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Trivialist (talk) 02:32, 26 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
