Paola di Maio
Hi pgalaxy,
You started the article Paola Di Maio -- I just wanted to let you know that I listed it for deletion, since it doesn't meet notability guidelines as listed here. Typically Wikipedia contributors do not have articles about themselves, unless they are very famous for other reasons, but instead place this kind of information on their userpage. If this article is about you, you may wish to do so with this biography. Please leave any questions or concerns on the talk page of the article. Thanks! -- phoebe 07:30, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
About deletions, and my userpage
Hi PGalaxy, I nominated one page you created for deletion, as I noted above. I also noted the reason above. (I should note that I'm not the person who actually deleted your article any of the times that it was deleted). That's not a reason to blank my userpage, which is an action generally considered vandalism. Please just leave a note on my talk page next time, and you might also want to read up on Wikipedia inclusion policies, such as Wikipedia:Notability. If the article keeps getting deleted, it probably doesn't belong in Wikipedia, or it needs substantial work and you should ask for help before reposting it. This is also a good summary of policies. Let me know if you have questions, -- phoebe/(talk) 03:31, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Copyright violation in Digital formats
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Digital formats, by DearPrudence (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Digital formats is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Digital formats, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 06:37, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Notability of Paola di maio
A tag has been placed on Paola di maio requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Nehwyn (talk) 14:20, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Usability content management
A tag has been placed on Usability content management requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —Travistalk 14:21, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Your biography
Hi Pgalaxy,
You are welcome to post any information you like about yourself at this page: user:pgalaxy. That is your "user page" and you can say what you like on it, as long as you are an active contributor to Wikipedia. You are also welcome to draft articles that you would like to someday put in the main space here.
However, that does not mean you can start a regular article about yourself -- and in fact, you probably shouldn't. There is a guideline on Wikipedia called Conflict of interest that strongly encourages all editors not to write about themselves. (Whether you have been participating in Wikipedia for a long time has nothing to do with it -- I have many thousands of edits, but I certainly don't qualify for an article).
If you do start an article, you may also want to review the inclusion guidelines for articles, including Wikipedia:Attribution and Wikipedia:Notability, especially the notability guidelines for people. Basically, every piece of information needs to be sourced to an outside published source -- simply having your work published or being known within your field is not enough. Other people must write substantively about your work, for you to be notable. Remember, this is an encyclopedia, not a Who's Who or a directory. It is also not myspace -- we don't offer free webpages to everyone. If what you want is a place to put your biography and other information online, there are better sites than Wikipedia to do this on.
I understand that there are many other biographies in Wikipedia, and you feel that you are "at least as" notable as those people. But each article is judged on its own merits around here. (And just because those articles currently exist doesn't mean they are perfect either -- they might get deleted one day too). Your article getting deleted one way or another has absolutely nothing to do with you personally, and it is in no way intended to be discriminatory. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions. Best, -- phoebe/(talk) 22:26, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of TransRelational model
A tag has been placed on TransRelational model requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - The original article was deleted because it seemed to be blatant advertising. --Rlandmann (talk) 08:24, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Black Cross Relic, said to be Holyrood True Cross.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Black Cross Relic, said to be Holyrood True Cross.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 18:59, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
