Could you please update your status, and if you are still interested, drop me a note on my talk page? Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Yanksox! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 8 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Ken Townsend - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Admin Coaching: Reconfirmation

I was looking through the coaches at Wikipedia:Admin_coaching/Status and saw that there are a lot under "reconfirmation".

Could you let me know if you are still interesting in being involved with Admin Coaching, or if you would prefer to have your name removed from the "reconfirmation" list and placed on the "retired" list. If you want to be involved, could you please move your entry from "Reconfirmation" to "Active" and indicate how many students you would be willing to have (obviously, if you are actively coaching at the moment, then please indicate this!)

If I do not hear from you within a week, I will assume that you would like to have your name removed from the list of coaches and moved to the retired list.

Speedy deletion of Xee

Hello Yanksox, this is a message from an automated bot to inform you that the page you created, Xee, has been marked for speedy deletion by User:2. This has been done because the page seems to be about a person, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant (see CSD). If you think the tag was placed in error, please add "{{hangon}}" to the page text, and edit the talk page to explain why the page should not be deleted. If you have a question about this bot, please ask it at User talk:SDPatrolBot II. If you have a question for the user who tagged the article, see User talk:2. File source problem with File:P5080116.JPG

Thank you for uploading File:P5080116.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 15:10, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Birthday (2012)

Notification of automated file description generation

Your upload of File:Alphaa.JPG or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Early 20th century sheriff bios

I've gone ahead and reverted your re-merging of Thomas Beloat and Joseph Merrill (sheriff) into an essay by Samuel Langhorne Clemens (a.k.a. Mark Twain), which happens to mention them in passing.

I wouldn't object in the least were these two American heroes merely fictional characters that sprung from Twain's fevered imagination. But they were living, breathing human beings who walked the Earth.

Please note that, as Twain's essay was published posthumously in 1923, the contemporaneous 1901 reference is not a case of double counting. Twain wasn't the only source to note their heroism at the time.

As such, the merges, in my mind, makes little to no sense. And, as I noted, they were done with no discussion whatsoever. -- Kendrick7talk 02:22, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, well, I've had to dust my shoulders off yet again, a downside of working on topics related to politics and religion. But my personal failings aren't an excuse for ignoring WP:NOTPAPER. These are two dead American heroes who seem to have been of some renown in their day. Merging them into an article about an essay simply doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I'm open to having a discussion on the merits of such a merger on their respective talk pages. We can even call in a WP:3 if you'd like. -- Kendrick7talk 02:38, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Thomas Beloat / Joseph Merrill Merge

Thanks for the heads up! I have no problem with the pace of the discussion, after all WP:There is no deadline. I'm not sure which WP:Guideline you think would be applicable here; I know them fairly well, and there's nothing I know of to suggest merging WP:Biographies into articles about source works which happen to mention them in passing. With the help of Google Books I've managed to find specific references to support the fact that of one or more newspapers also contemporaneously mentioned each subject. I hope the new refs might make you reconsider your position that these gentlemen have no notability outside of this one work by Mark Twain. Happy New Year! -- Kendrick7talk 02:07, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Global account

Hi Yanksox! As a Steward I'm involved in the upcoming unification of all accounts organized by the Wikimedia Foundation (see m:Single User Login finalisation announcement). By looking at your account, I realized that you don't have a global account yet. In order to secure your name, I recommend you to create such account on your own by submitting your password on Special:MergeAccount and unifying your local accounts. If you have any problems with doing that or further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Cheers, —DerHexer (Talk) 00:03, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
