DYK for Vaal Reefs mining disaster

On 21 June 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Vaal Reefs mining disaster, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that 104 miners were killed in the 1995 Vaal Reefs mining disaster when a locomotive fell on an elevator, making it history's deadliest elevator disaster? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Vaal Reefs. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Vaal Reefs mining disaster), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Sock

Thanks - I blocked the sock. In future, probably best to post stuff like that to my talk page, or to raise an SPI report, rather than post on the master's talk page - easier to miss there (I get a lot of pings...). Cheers Girth Summit (blether) 09:45, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, that's fair. Maybe I'm being overcautious with trying to AGF and inviting this user to engage and improve. Zaian (talk) 09:49, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
