Mokokoma Frans Mokhonoana (19 May 1985 – 1 August 2023) was a South African author, mystic, philosopher, minimalist, designer, and social critic. Known for his thought-provoking aphorisms and essays, Mokhonoana explored complex themes such as human nature, societal norms, and the intersection of philosophy and humor.

Mokokoma was born in Mahwelereng, Mokopane, in the Limpopo province of South Africa. He was the eldest of three siblings. As a child, Mokokoma was introverted and introspective, traits that later shaped his writing and philosophy. He was known for his preference for written communication over verbal, often opting for emails rather than phone or video calls. Despite his reserved nature, Mokokoma occasionally engaged in public discourse through podcasts, including an episode of Revision Path.[1]

Mokokoma attended Hoërskool Piet Potgieter [af] in Mokopane before pursuing studies in Graphic Design. He briefly worked as a graphic designer but soon shifted focus to freelance work and writing. His literary career began in 2011, during which he gained recognition for his ability to blend humor, philosophy, and sharp social commentary.
