Schoolnet India Limited founded in 1997 is an education technology company headquartered in Noida.Schoolnet India Limited provides digital learning solutions for schools, teachers, and students. The company partners with schools and governments to improve educational outcomes at scale through technology interventions. The company operates in smart classrooms, personalised learning and learning management system.

History & Milestones

Schoolnet India Limited, was founded in 1997, as erstwhile IL&FS Education & Technology Service Ltd with a focus on education technology and skill development. In November 2019 IL&FS sold its 73.70% stake in Schoolnet India Limited to Falafel Technology.[1] In February 2022 Schoolnet acquired NextSteps AI, a Hyderabad-based deep-tech start-up incubated at T-Hub.[2]In July 2024 Schoolnet acquired Genius Teachers, a quiz-based e-learning platform focussed on AI-led student and teacher digital learning solutions in the K-12 category.[3]

  • CDI: Cluster Development Initiative (CDI) is the advisory division of Schoolnet India Limited which works with Governments, Institutions, and Industry in developing and implementing programs for the growth of the industrial sector

Technological Advancements

The company introduced AI-driven platforms like Geneo for personalised learning and EnglishBolo for English language training, aligning with the New Education Policy (NEP-2020) to support both in-school and after-school learning.

Schoolnet provides interactive digital classroom solutions for schools across India. These solutions include integrated teaching devices, curriculum-aligned interactive content, and a Learning Management System (LMS) for schools.

Geneo is Schoolnet's flagship personalised learning solution. It offers a web-based platform with AI-powered technology and individualised mentor support.

Kyan, a multimedia-enriched group learning solution, is a portable device designed to make teaching and learning more interactive and efficient. It was developed in collaboration with IIT Bombay.

Schoolnet offers English language training programs designed to improve employability and communication skills. The EnglishBolo app, a blended learning system, helps learners enhance their spoken English proficiency.

The LMS and analytics services provided by Schoolnet enable schools to track and measure educational outcomes effectively. These systems support data-driven decision-making, for teaching strategies and student performance.

Gyan Shala(G-Shala)

Launched in 2012 in partnership with the Gujarat government, G-Shala is an e-learning platform offering digital content, interactive exercises, and assessments aligned with the state curriculum. It caters to students from Grades 1 to 12

Digital Model Virtual Schools (DMVS)

In partnership with the Delhi government, Schoolnet developed the Delhi Model Virtual School (DMVS), which was launched in 2022. With the motto "anywhere living, anytime learning, anytime testing," DMVS offers flexible, online education as part of the government's effort to expand access to quality education under its Education Revolution initiative[4]

J-Guruji App

J-Guruji app is a state-wide initiative undertaken by Schoolnet in partnership with the Jharkhand government. J-Guruji provides a digital learning platform with curriculum-aligned content, teacher training modules, and online assessments for schools across Jharkhand.[5]
