English: The Baghdadi Folklore Museum houses the majority of the life monuments of the early inhabitants of Baghdad. The Baghdadi Museum was opened in early 1970 with its current location on the banks of the Tigris River near the Mustansiriya school building. The building of the Baghdadi Museum is one of the old buildings in Baghdad, where it dates back to 1869 during the Ottoman Empire. It was first used as a printing press for the state of Baghdad during the reign of Governor Medhat Pasha. The Baghdadi Museum documents a period of time in Baghdad’s history, conveys accurate details about the lives of Baghdadis and sheds light on Baghdadi’s heritage and traditional lifestyle of ancient Baghdad. It restores the simplicity, cohesion and social richness of life through realistic scenes that embody the shape, movement and colors created by Iraqi artists who made statues of the characters in a language relevant to the popular and heritage heritage of the ancient Baghdadi community.
