Brief History
Founded by Jack Tramiel in 1954, Commodore originally specialized in adding machines and electronic calculators. The firm took its first steps into the personal computing market in 1977. The company developed and marketed the world's best-selling desktop computer, the Commodore 64, in 1982 and released its Amiga computer line in July 1985. In the 1980s, the company was one of the world’s largest personal computer manufacturers.
This Commodore C286-LT laptop was purchased by the donor from Dick Smith Electronics around 1989, and used by them until March 2005.
