It was adopted on August 11, 2017. The blue bar at the top represents the St. Vrain river. The white bar in the middle represents the St. Vrain trail that was built along the old railroad lines that serviced the five coal mines that settled the area. The green bar at the bottom represents the agriculture and prosperity of the area. The five black stars rising represent the five coal mines that settled the area referred to now as the Carbon Valley.
