English: James Barbour Terrill (1838-1864), Brigadier General of the Confederate States Army; killed in battle on May 30, 1864, near Bethesda Church, Hanover County, Virginia; his nomination as Brigadier General was confirmed on the day he was killed. His brother, William Rufus Terrill, served as a Brigadier General in the Union army during the Civil War and was also killed in battle, at Perryville, KY, in October 1862. Author-unknown.
