DescriptionPiazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere 1 (15606121138).jpg
The fountain of the Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere is believed to be the oldest fountain in Rome, originating in the 8th century. The present fountain is the work of Donato Bramante (1444 – 11 March 1514) and added onto by other architects. The original fountain was supplied with water by an aqueduct, the Aqua Traiana.
