In this picture, idols are decorated on steps made of wood or steel, covered by silk saree or dhoti. Idols are placed on the silk and decorated with lights. The process excites people of all ages - from setting up the steps, arranging idols and other decorations. For next nine days, celebrations include preparing delicious food, classical singing in the evenings and people engaging socially and seeking blessings. |
