English: Toll Gate stone The stone bears the inscription Opposite this stone stood the Burwell Ness Toll Gate which was removed Dec 1 1905 ---- This block was erected by C.D.Rose Esq M.P. The stone originally stood alongside the road close to Ness Farm,on the right in the background, but was moved when the road was straightened c.1965. The other building is Tollgate Farm, both were built c.1960 replacing an older farm.
