Michael Green (born December 4, 1980) is an American Businessman and Inventor. He is the Co-Founder and CEO of Athena Security.[1] [2] [3] [4] He was placed in the Cincinnati Business Courier's 40 under 40 list.[1][5]

Early Life and Education

[edit]

Green was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and grew up in Anderson Township. He attended St. Xavier High School from 1994 to 1997 before enrolling at Harvard University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics[6][7]

Career

[edit]

In 2006, Green took over the management of the John R. Green Company, a business founded by his grandfather, located in Kentucky. It was a family business where his company supplied furniture and other items to school and other educational Institutions.[6][8] It operated out of a four-story building in Covington’s Mainstrasse Village for decades. The company was sold to Kurtz Bros in 2016. Subsequently, the building was converted into loft apartments in 2019.[6][8] In 2017, Green founded Auto Board Systems, an anti-money laundering company, which he later sold in 2019.[5][1] That same year, he collaborated with Lisa Falzone and Chris Ciabarra, the co-founders of Revel Systems,[6] to establish Athena Security which provides Security services like weapon detection systems[9] and Visitors Management System. [10] Since its inception in 2018, the company has raised more than $10 million.[11][12]

Green founded the company due to a personal experience, in 2010, after purchasing a four-bedroom house on Mulberry Street overlooking the rhine he had a life-changing just one week after moving in, he was on the rooftop deck with a cable installer when gunfire erupted below.[6] The experience, followed by other incidents of hearing gunshots near his Prospect Hill home, solidified him to prioritise safety. He obtained a licence to carry gun and began escorting house guests to their cars to ensure their security. [6]
