Whitelake Consortium is the development company entrusted with the design, construction and operation of Ajman International Airport. It is, however, just one small part of a very large and focussed professional machine that is determined to deliver a world-class airport to the Emirate of Ajman. It is planned that the airport will commence operations in 2017 and will provide a 4000 metre runway enabling it to accept all current aircraft types and providing the most modern facilities for passengers, cargo, logistics, MRO and FBO. <ref name="Arabian Business">{{cite web|url=http://www.arabianbusiness.com/ajman-crown-prince-approves-571m-airport-plans-564682.html|website=http://www.ajmanairport.ae/|accessdate=14 September 2014}}</ref> The airport project is divided into several phases and we are now progressing through the detailed design phase, led very ably by Cyrrus UK, who are responsible for the airport layout and airspace design. This critical work phase will be completed in early 2015 immediately before we progress to construction. But Cyrrus are just one of many teams sharing the Ajman vision; there are geophysical surveys underway and a geotechnical survey commences very shortly, followed closely by the demolition works on the site prior to construction. Liaising very closely with the Federal and National authorities Whitelake is determined to provide a facility in Ajman that beckons both the private traveller and the businessman and opens a portal to this beautiful and unspoilt Emirate.
