The school was established in March 2000. On 1 May 2000, the school received its first headmaster, Tuan Haji Jauhari bin Haji Idris. The school was handed over by SIME UEP to the Selangor Department of Education on 2 May 2000. It is an average sized school which usually hosts just over ±1000 students of all ethnic diversities. The school is well known for it's excellent football players, as well as it's active scouts troop. However, it is better known among most Subang residents as the 'gangster school', a reputation they have been seeking to alter since the school opened, to no avail. However, the current batch of students (Form 1's in 2011, Form 5's in 2015) are a group of much more well behaved, obedient young teenagers, who will no doubt make the vision of a wells disciplined SMK USJ 4 into a reality, especially as the particularly troublesome Form 5 batch of 2014 has now left the school for good. USJ 4, in it's prime, was a school that was fun, free and friendly. People didn't make enemies, everyone was friends with everyone and the entire student body existed in a somewhat harmonious state. However, after 2011, this condition began to deteriorate, and the USJ 4 that exists today is but a shadow of it's former self,as it has now become as restricted and limiting as the likes of SMK USJ 12, our stricter and more intellectually advanced rival school. Usually if you're in the top class or in UK class which used to be known as Kelas Rancangan Khas (KRK) you'll get plenty of attention from the teachers and you'll receive a high quality education that will assist you in getting straight A's. God forbid you be stuck in a class below Aristotle, because I give my personal guarantee that you will be ignored, forgotten, and put down. Teachers that make the effort to try teaching will be ignored, most will not even bother trying after the March exams. Some of the teachers don't really care if you're in their class or not, but of course there are always those teachers whose classes you do NOT want to miss because they will KILL you. ===Name of Classes=== ;U2 Smartkidz: * [[Umar Khayyam]] * [[Umar ibn Abdul Aziz|Umar Aziz]] * [[Socrates]] * [[Mozart]] * [[Aristotle]] * [[Rembrandt]] * [[Tennyson]] * [[Kepler]] * [[Ibnu Sina]] * [[Da Vinci]] * [[Zaaba]] == Sports == * Panglima (orange) * Laksamana (green) * Temenggong (red) * Syahbandar (yellow) * Bendahara (blue) == Extra curricular et-cetera == There is a Prefects Board, which, while they pretend they have much authority, usually instill 0 fear in the hearts of the students and contribute little, if at all to the disciplinary situation of the school, a Librarians Board, made up of a group of librarians that make a majority of the noise they're supposed to control and also an Editorial Board that works hard on making the magazine each year but always blames any errors on the printing companies. The [[Scouting|Scout]] troop in this school is named the 131PJ Flaming Phoenix Scout troop (among other co-curricular troops; such as: [[Kadet Remaja Sekolah Malaysia|Kadet Remaja Sekolah]], Kadet Polis, [[International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement|Bulan Sabit Merah Melaysia]], Puteri Islam, [[Brownie (Girl Guides)|Pandu Puteri]]). It has participated in the 11th Malaysia Jamboree. Its activities include first aid courses, expeditions, camps and campfires. Their meetings are often accompanied by their alumni and by a teacher advisor. Camps are held around the school area and also outside. Formal events also include a marching performance by them. It's actually one of the most active troops in the entire school and they win the marching competition each year, simply because every other group is worse than them. Another club in this school is The SMK USJ 4 [[Glee club|Music Club]]. The club is co-handled by a teacher adviser, alongside a President and his/ her board of committee. The music club is predominantly a three-part - sometimes 4 and (for a short while) 5 in 2013/2014,[[choir]] (altos, soprano 1s, soprano 2s, they only have 2 remaining basses). Soprano 2s are [[contralto]]s. Other than handling the choir, the club also has an [[orchestra]] division. OK, that's a lie. They have a few kids that play violins. None of them are particularly good but they're bearable. Formal events also include the choir to perform a few pieces, along with a patriotic anthem. No that's a lie too. The choir usually learns only about 2 songs each year, and the headmistress works hard to ensure that their talent (or lack thereof) never sees the light of day. The school's [[Rotary International|Interact Club]] is also well-known. Its greatest event held up to this date would definitely be 2008's Inter(Art)Act Festival, which can be compared to other art events along the lines of the annual RANtAi Art Event. There is also a [[Leo clubs|Leo Club]]. They often host bake sales for charity around school and at the local shopping mall, [[Subang Parade]]. Other active clubs include the language and cultural societies (English, Bahasa Melayu, Kebudayaan, Islamic Culture, Taranum, Bahasa Cina, and Bahasa Tamil), The Debate Club, sports clubs (frisbee, badminton, football, rugby), [[Silat Melayu|Silat Gayung]], Karate, just to name a few. In 2007 they played host to a Japanese student, for two years. In 2008, they welcomed about 40 Australian students from the [[Eumemmerring College]] for a fortnight. Now for the more fun extra-curricular activities. These are the ones that will probably not get you (m)any extra curricular points, but they're worth a shot. 1. Gang-fights. SMK USJ 4 is famous for gangfights. They used to happen ALL the time, every time. If you still aren't familiar with Foyer E (I doubt any of you know what that is), it is also known as Dewan Merbau and is strictly off limits. Ignore this warning. 99% of gangfights happen there, and it is also the building that was set on fire in 2013. Usually it is only used by the cheerleaders, but the choral speaking team (2010-2013) made some use of it as well as a practice location. Familiarise yourself with this spot, it is an excellent truancy spot. 2. Truancy At some point in your USJ 4 school life, you have GOT to play truant. At least once. If you don't, then go to USJ 12 already, YOU SUCK. Anyway, case and point. Truancy? Easy. There are a number of safe spots where you can safely play truant. The staircase next to the ICT lab, the staircase near the Bilik Jahitan, Foyer E (Dewan Merbau) and of course, you can always just step out of the school. There used to be a number of exits/escapes that you could use but these have been sealed and only 2 remain (at the time of writing). If you can manage to sneak out past the guard into the field, there is a small gate at the far end that is usually open. This used to be a hole, but they replaced it with a gate. If not, the other end of the field (where there is a sort of bus stop) also has a gate that is usually locked during schooling hours. However, you will find there is a massive hole in the fencing directly opposite it, which can easily be climbed through. If this hole has been sealed already, fear not. Someone will cut another one. An exit worth mentioning: NARNIA Narnia was an exit at Foyer E that was closed up by the building of the cement wall. It was a hole in the fence at the top of the hill that I myself as well as a number of other students used on more than one occasion to escape the school, however it has since been completely sealed up by that stupid cement wall that we never found a way to get around. Well played, Pn Norizam. Well played. 3. Smoking Not a personal hobby of mine but I suppose there will be those of you that need a cigarette every once in a while. Fair warning, don't smoke in the (guys) bathroom, as it is directly in front of the discipline room, and, wouldn't you know it, THE TEACHER'S CAN SEE YOU. I recommend Foyer E, or anywhere behind the school building, or better still, outside it. 4. The Lorong Prime location for meeting up to skip class/smoke or just hang out in general. The house on the right has security cameras, and their kids go to SMK USJ 4, but I think you'll be ok.
