Founded in 1988, it is known domestically by the name “Nagoya Gaidai” and its English abbreviation as NUFS. == Overview == === '''About NUFS''' === NUFS is a four-year university which at the time of its founding in 1988 was the only foreign language studies university in the “Chubu" region that lies between the greater Tokyo region and the Kyoto-Osaka region. Currently NUFS contains two studies consisting of nine departments and one graduate school. It has established relationships with 84 overseas educational institutions. NUFS maintains a “Total Expense Support System (TESS),” which means that the university bears the full financial burden of its overseas exchange programs. The number of its students sent abroad exceeds anything seen at any other university in its region. Reorganized Master's Program into Doctoral Program (first semester).
