Born on Bahn Inland Mission, Bahn City, [[Nimba County]], [[Liberia]] to the union of the late Rev. David K. Dunah and Mrs. Anna K. Dunah, he is the seventh of nine children. He is married to Wonnetta Dunah and has four children, namely, Jemima, David, Saywah,Jr., and Saywahlyn. The family worships at the United Liberia Inland Church VP Road Branch on the Old Road in Sinkor, [[Monrovia]].The Dunahs are native of Gwealay Town in Gbor Administrative District. He started school at the Gwealay Public School in Gbor Gwealay, NImba County the native home of his father and ended his elementary schooling at the Bahn Mission School. He completed his secondary education at the Bahn High School and entered the University of Liberia in 1989. After the war he completed with a degree in Economics with dual minor in Political Science and Mass Communications in 2001, the class is known as the Golden Class of the University of Liberia<ref name="kas-benin1">{{cite web|url=http://www.kas-benin.de/liberia/Profiles_2005_52nd_Legislature-Liberia.pdf|format=PDF|title=A PROFILE OF MEMBERS OF THE 52ND LEGISLATURE OF LIBERIA|website=Kas-benin.de|accessdate=2016-10-24}}</ref> because that was the 50th year of the existence of the school. Dunah was part of the Founding Executive of the New Democratic Alternative for Liberia Movement (New DEAL Movement) rose from position of Chairman of the Youth Wing, later Assistant Secretary General and lastly elected on white ballot to the post of National Secretary General. Dunah has made numerous international representations at the levels of direct government, parliamentary and parliamentary network, and constituency visits in the United States. At those events he has participated in discussions, presented papers, serve as panelist etc. These representations have been amongst others in Cape Town, Dakar, Tokyo, Brussels, Prague, Ljubljana, Budapest , Strasbourg, Paris, Kampala, Stockholm, Washington DC, Kigali, Abuja, Lagos, Lome, Bamako, Abidjan, Freetown, New York, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Des Moines. The United Nations in 2008`, Rep. Dunah was Head of Legislative Delegation and spoke in the full Plenary of 191 Countries and States in the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations. The European Parliament 2007 – Current Elected to the Legislative Delegation to the African, Caribbean and Pacific and European Union Joint Parliamentary Assembly, the Senior Representative of Nimba goes to work to Brussels three times a year. He assumes the office of Head of Delegation in January 2015 after serving for seven years on the Delegation.
