She completed training course as an air hostess in Bangalore and wanted to pursue her career in Air hostess. ==Career== ===Tamil Industry=== While Arundathi was pursuing her air hostess course, She was spotted by director in Temple and approached her to play a role in his films. Although she turned down the offer , as she was not interested in films and had a passion to become an air hostess. Eventually she gave a try and agreed to do just one movie. However she continued to receive acting offers. Director [[S._A._Chandrasekhar|SA chandrashekar]] approached her and offered her to act in his film Velattu kattu. Since she received the offer from one of the well known director in tamil industry, she accepted his offer. Though it was an Average movie she was applauded with critics claiming that she can become a best actress with the handfull of good directors. [[S._A._Chandrasekhar|SA chandrashekar]] had given her the name "Arundathi" hence she was therefore recognised as Arundathi in tamil industry. She later on received back to back offers but she wasn't keen to accept as she was very particular with the scripts. Later on in 2011 she acted in movie Bodinayakarun Ganesan followed by Sundattam( 2012 ) opposite with actor [[Irfan_(actor)|Ifran]]. In 2013 she acted in Movie [[Netru_Indru|Netru Indru]]. She had a challenging role where she was a police officer but goes in a disguise of prostitute to catch the culprit. Though the movie did not turn out well, she was praised with her bold character by the audience. She acted opposite with Actor [[Thaman_Kumar|Tamman]] in Thriller suspense movie [[Thottal_Thodarum|Thottal thodarum]](2014) , [[Naaigal_Jaakirathai|Naaigal Jaakiratha]] (2015), Comedy Thriller movie opposite with [[Sibi_Sathyaraj|Sibiraj]] son of [[Sathyaraj]]. The movie gave the hit and received positive reviews on her performance. In 2016 she was seen In action movie" Aarthanaari " as a lead female role Police officer from a direction of Sundarra Elangovam Ex Assistant director of Bala. Inspite the movie failed, she definately had done justice to the role and received a positive feedback on her tough and bold character and has potential of handling any kind of role. ===Kannada Industry=== Arundathi made her acting debut in Aantharya (2009). In 2012 made her guest appearance in political oriented movie Agraja opposite to Darshan. Currently she is working in the Tamil industry and busy with upcoming projects and also focusing on telugu industry. ===Personal life=== Arundathi was born and brought up as Telugu orthodox family. Her birth name is Padmavathi given by her parents. She has a younger brother. In 2010 well known Director [[S._A._Chandrasekhar|S V chandrashekar]], father of famous actor [[Vijay_(actor)|Vijay]], gave her a name as Arundathi. Hence she recognised as Arundathi in South India cinema Industries. Arundathi(Padmavathi) is a strong believer of God and visits holy places regularly. and also involved in charity work. She is dedicated to her faith.
