Our main focus is Church Planting, Evangelism and Bible Training. Apart from these we also have social justice projects in different states of India, though the primary focus is sharing God’s love through all these projects. == History == In 1976, New India Church of God (NICOG), a church organization founded by Pastor V. A. Thampy and Pastor R. Abraham, was registered in India. Our ministry has spread out to 22 different states of India and beyond with 3469 churches, 15 Bible training centers, along with vocational training schools, elementary schools, orphanages, and refugee home. == Churches == Our native missionaries have planted 3469 churches in 22 States of India. The purpose of our Churches is to teach and make disciples in accordance with the Great Commission of Jesus and to prepare the Bride of Christ for His second coming. Our highest priority is to fulfill the ‘Great Commission’ of Jesus Christ. Even today, millions of lives in India have never heard the good news of Jesus Christ.  The Lord has enabled our missionaries to take the Gospel to these groups. == Missions == === '''BIBLE SCHOOLS''' === Reaching the unreached in our generation is the vision God has given to New India Church of God. For this to become a reality, we realized years ago that we would need to send out missionaries to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel. NICOG have established Bible schools to train the missionaries. Our goal is to instill in each student the vision to take the Gospel to the unreached; provide on-the-job training through ongoing outreach ministry; give them quality instruction in the Word of God; and prepare them for pioneer work, and a life of faith through Jesus. Each team visits villages giving the opportunity for people to hear the Gospel. Each team will be based in a town, equipped with a jeep or minibus, P.A system, generator and a projector. Thousands of people have been blessed through this ministry. === '''Young People’s Christian Assocation (YPCA)''' === YPCA is the youth wing of New India Church of God. Young people determine the strength and future of any organization. History: YPCA started even before NICOG was registered. It was “Kaanom Achan” who named this youth movement as “Young People’s Christian Association” in a meeting at the house of T.K. Scariah, Thymaravumkara. Year after year, new strategies were incorporated to better the work of YPCA. YPCA has become the source of continual support to the ministry of NICOG. YPCA extends its ministry to meet the social needs of the people of India. A social welfare trust is actively working and is responsible for the philanthropic activities of YPCA. Financial support to educate poor children, distribution of sewing machines for women, construction of houses for the poor – to name a few. Weekly programs are arranged in every local church. Special camps and seminars are conducted every year. === '''Sunday School''' === The growth of the mustard seed was fantastic as it is explained in the parable of Kingdom of Heaven. It became a large tree with so many branches that all the birds in the sky could find shelter in it. The growth of NICOG was not an overnight phenomenon. It was gradual. NICOG’s Sunday school has a vital role in this ministries growth. An effective syllabus for the Sunday school classes were developed in 1986. The first set of Sunday school texts for beginners (1-4 classes) were published in 1986. By 1995, the course material for 10 classes were developed and published. Annual examinations are conducted the prizes are distributed at the anniversary meetings. Seminars and discussions are conducted to bring the light to the Sunday school teachers and to equip them with good teaching methods. == Social Justice == === '''VISION RESCUE:''' === Vision Rescue is Social Wing of NICOG. Vision Rescue aims to provide hope and dignity by providing Health, Education & Economic empowerment. Vision Rescue is involved in feeding, providing non-formal education, medical help, skill training and other kinds of assistance to the addicted and abused on the streets of Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. Our vision is to empower people to find their purpose, enjoy their rights and live with dignity. === '''CHILDREN’S HOMES:''' === NICOG has children’s homes in different States, reaching the children. The children at BLC are orphaned and underprivileged. We have full time staff working in each of the homes, giving them the best of hygiene, nutrition, education and godliness. Our aim is to develop the whole person, focusing on their physical, mental and social growth. === '''WOMEN’S REFUGEE HOME:''' === Many of the women in our “Vivianna Life Center (VLC)” had been sent off their homes because of their faith. VLC also take the responsibilities of them in terms of getting them married, or helping them with their future. Our elderly women are given the opportunity to spend the last years of their lives in a family atmosphere with a sense of belonging so that they can promote to a glorious eternity with dignity and in a peaceful atmosphere. === '''FORMAL SCHOOLS:''' === Life is unimaginably hard in the villages of India, where many children live in poverty, malnutrition and disease. Worse still, they lack the opportunity to improve their lives, because there is no education or training in practical skills. An average village family income is $8 to $15 a month. Many children do not attend school. From a very early age, parents make their children work on the farm or at home instead of sending them to school. All villages do not have government schools, and if there is one the quality of education is very bad. For quality education sometimes children have to walk 3 to 5 miles to go to the nearest school. The dropout rates from schools are very high. Given the motivation and opportunity of going to school, these children could develop vocational skills, which would enable their families to break out of the cycle of poverty forever. === '''VOCATIONAL TRAINING SCHOOLS:''' === There are so many women who are widowed or abandoned by their husbands. Many of them are left with young children, with no means of providing for their food or education. At Bethesda Tailoring Schools, we teach them a trade, and when they graduate, present them with a sewing machine so that they can make a living on their own and run their families. Many widows and abandoned women have found a new hope for living through this ministry. === '''OTHER COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS:''' === Homes to the Homeless: NICOG has built numerous houses for the poor and needy without a shelter. Marrying the poor girls: Dowry problem forces many young women to stay at their homes without anyone to marry them. NICOG has helped several girls marry and enter a family life. Education Funds: Funds are raised through YPCA (Young People’s Christian Association – youth wing of New India Church of God), the youth movement of NICOG. These funds are distributed to the poor and needy children for their school fees and books. Food & Cloth Distribution: Rice and other food items, along with clothes are distributed during the time of flood and famine in several parts of India. Rehabilitation Program: This program is in the beginning stages. We are dedicated to the effective treatment of individuals and families afflicted with the disease of alcoholism and other drug addictions in a healing environment where spirituality, recovery and hope are offered. Clean water Program: In regions affected by drought in north India, critical shortage of clean water claim countless lives through dehydration and water-borne diseases. NICOG has responded to the needs of thirsty communities by providing tube wells, pumps, and fresh water wells. It has provided the local community with the constant supply of clean water.
