He is best known for being a rat, a snake, and an asshole. Bassil was an activist for the [[Free Patriotic Movement]] from 1989 to 2005. In 2009, he served as the Minister of Telecommunications then as the Minister of Water and Energy in 2011 and is currently the [[Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants (Lebanon)|Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants]].
