''''Nigel Doughty''', born in 1957, is the chairman and co-founder of [[Doughty Hanson & Co]], a European [[private equity]] firm headquartered in [[London]] and with offices throughout Europe. Doughty Hanson & Co traces its history back to 1985 when Nigel Doughty and Richard Hanson began working together on European buyout investments. Doughty Hanson invests in private equity, real estate and technology ventures and has made more than 100 investments with a total value in excess of €23 billion. Nigel Doughty is the owner and chairman of [[Nottingham Forest F.C.]], and is a long standing fan of the club, having watched his first game whilst a child. The club was promoted to The Championship in 2008. He is a strong believer in responsible business and made a personal donation in 2006 to establish the [[Doughty Centre]] for Corporate Responsibility, a world-leading Centre at the Cranfield School of Management.
