He inherited his mother's gemstone, along with some of her abilities, which he had trouble using at the beginning of the series but got better at them as the show progressed. Steven's personality is similar to Rose; he is caring, kind, gentle, protective, and quick to forgive others. Also, Steven tries his best to protect anyone he loves from any encountered dangers as possible. Throughout Season 1, Steven thought that being a Crystal Gem was fun and cool, then by the end of the season, he realized how serious being a Crystal Gem is and how it is a burden on him. He also hides some of his fears from the Gems.
