In 1991, Lanir and Rel Nadel founded a number of recreation locations and nightclubs. In those years, Lanir and Nadel lead the Tel Aviv scene to places such as "Rosalinda" and "Allenby 58". After they parted, Lanir turned to an independent road and in 1998 established, together with Arnon Katz, the "Empire Online" Company, which dealt with the marketing of [[Websites]] that are engaged in the internet [[gambling]]sector. In 2005, less than seven years after its establishment, the Company was issued at an IPO of a billion dollars.
[[Livermore Investments Group]] nearly a decade ago, and was initially active in the [[online gambling]] sector. In June 2005 Lanir led the IPO of the company at a valuation of 925 million USD under its former name Empire Online.
During 2006, Lanir sold the firm's activity in the online gaming sector and turned the company towards investments.
The company paid out some of its cash as a dividend and was left with 250 million dollars.
The company changed its name to Livermore investments.
The company is highly liquid and un-leveraged as of the end of 2008.

A few months following the IPO, a legal dispute broke between "Empire Online" and one of its prominent customers, "PartyGaming Plc". The legal dispute was resolved at the beginning of 2006 by mutual agreement and compromise, in the framework of which "PartyGaming" paid "Empire Online" the sum of 250 million dollars.
In the course of that same year, and following the U.S legislation Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, Lanir sold "Empire Online"'s activity to "PartyGamin" and changed the Company's name to [[Livermore Investments Group]].
