Archbishop Carroll was established in [[1998]] by the Diocese to serve the growing Catholic population in southwest Miami-Dade County. The school is named after [[Coleman Carroll|Archbishop Coleman Francis Carroll]], the first Bishop of Miami.
Archbishop Carroll is home of the ACCHS Drum Line, a recognized non-competing drum line. The drum line has performed for Ft. Lauderdale's Winterfest Boat Parade for three years, and has won Best Show Boat two years in a row, 2009 and 2010. It is led by UM's Frost School of Music alumi, [[Justin House]].

The administrations decisions are not equal amongst all students. AP scores are low. Recently, numbers in the school have dropped and several favorite teachers were fired or pushed to leave. It is the best interest to send your child to another school where there development will be encouraged.
